Book review: River Cottage Veg everyday!

I started a veggie patch a few months ago and was looking for more recipes in which veggies play a centre role. I came across a book that I really like, it’s River Cottage Veg everyday! by Hugh Fearnley-Whittngstall. You may recognise this name, he has a show on television at the moment, River Cottage: Everyday (Thursday at 6.00 pm on ABC1).

I like this book because it’s all about veggies, the recipes are quite easy and you don’t need to buy heaps of fancy ingredients. The book is divided in different chapters such as hearty salads, hefty soups, pasta & rice and mezze & tapas.

To give you an idea of the type of recipes in this book, let me share a few with you:
chard and new potato curry, baby beet tarte tartin, tahini-dressed courgette and green bean salad, parsnip and ginger soup, tomato, thyme and goat’s cheese tart, pasta with fennel, rocket and lemon, Cambodian wedding day dip and caramelised carrots with gremolata.

Do you have a cook book you like? It would be great if you could bring it to our garden visits so others can have a look at it.
